IDC Guide

Thinking about Phuket to do your IDC?

Then you should consider Phuket’s PADI IDC Scubacat and Sarah Kench, here is Sarah’s story and reason why you should seriously consider Scubacat. In Sarah’s words…

I am from just outside of Birmingham in the UK and have been at Scuba Cat in Phuket since 2007. In my previous life I was a Financial Adviser, earning a really good salary but I was bored. I was already a Divemaster, having done all of my training in and around Quarries in the UK when I cam on holiday to Phuket diving with Scuba Cat. I fell in love with Thailand and decided to come back and do my IDC here. That’s where trouble started. I went back to the UK, couldn’t settle back into work so sold up everything and came here to work as an instructor. 6 years ago (1st June 2007) I had the opportunity to become the owner and the rest is history…

Phuket is such a beautiful place to live and work, if you want to party you can do that here however if you want the quiet beauty of nature we have that too. From the home comforts of Multi screen cinemas, supermarkets, and everytype of entertainment you could imagine to beautiful temples, jungles and remote beaches we have it all.

Scuba Cat Diving is not just a company to me it is my life, I spend my time working toward making other peoples dreams easy to achieve, I don’t dive much myself any more as I am always in the background looking after the customers before they get here, whilst they are here but still have time for IDC courses and overseeing all the career packages, courses etc
Now let me introduce you to Scuba Cat Diving.

Scuba Cat Diving has trained thousands of divers from beginner to instructor and won many awards,  as well as
•    Certificate of Recognition for Excellence 2012
•    PADI Green Star Award 2012
•    100% Aware
including the prestigious PADI Platinum Course Director Award for the last 5 years Scuba Cat Diving, Training Facilities

Environmental Issues
Protection and enhancement of the marine environment is a duty and obligation for all dive operators. They must show the way both by action, education and commitment in all activities. Looking for the right place to do your IDC is confusing, you cannot tell what a centre is like from a website alone. The CDC Centre is a good indication of excellence, and your PADI Course Director, awards and status are extremely important.

Special PADI IE option for PADI 5 * CDC Centres
This is a life changing experience, the cheapest option is not necessarily the best. Have a look at things the former students have said about the centre on Tripadviser, also on our blog and facebook
